Sewing Again!

I’m so happy to have my sewing machine back from the repair shop! It was only gone for a few days, but it had been behaving badly for quite some time. Now, it’s all back and as good as new.

Here’s the diaper bag I just finished from the Amy Butler Nappy Bag pattern. Whew, this sucker has a lot of steps! (Largely due to all the great pockets inside.) I added a magentic closure, and I think I’ll be glad that I did. The fabric is from Heather Ross’s Free Spirit collection called “Lightning Bugs and Other Mysteries.”

I’m also making some progress on the baby’s room. The purple stripes were already there, and I’m trying to build on a flower fairy theme. The alphabet cards will go all the way around the top of the room (if I can ever figure out how to stick them up there securely), and I just added the valances for the windows. I’m considering hanging some white sheers to perhaps help soften the windows some more, but I haven’t decided for sure.
