Nicole just tagged me to answer the music survey that’s making the rounds. Interesting timing for this as I realize I’ve been out of touch with my musical self lately. My main music-listening time has usually been in the car, but 2004 found me listening almost exclusively to NPR instead. Time to get back into the swing of things.
1. Total amount of music files on your computer?
Not many. Maybe a dozen? I’m more inclined to go the old-school CD route and/or mooch off of my husband’s gi-normous MP3 collection on his computer.
2. CD you last bought?
Sarah McLachlan, Afterglow
3. What is the song you last listened to before reading this message?
“Just Wanna Live,” Good Charlotte (on the radio)
4. 5 songs you often listen to, or which mean a lot to you?
- “Latter Days,” Over the Rhine
- “Down Here,” David Wilcox
- “Big Time,” Peter Gabriel (the entire “So” album, really)
- “Extraordinary,” Liz Phair
- “Perfect Girl,” Sarah McLachlan
5. Who are you going to pass this on to and why?

Hee hee, the graphic anti-spam thing I had to do to leave this comment made me type “yERPus.”
Anyway I answered the challenge. I like all kinds of music except country so it was really hard. I’m sure in a few hours I will totally want to overhaul that list of five…

1. Total amount of music files on your computer?
Whenever the music downloads folder on Purr gets to be more than 4G, I burn a DVD and start afresh. I’m a little behind so there’s probably 5 or so G of music files right now.
2. CD you last bought?
Steve Lukathur “Lukather” (1989.)
I was actually bidding on Dr. Ice’s “Rely on Selph” (1994). I bid $1 and waited 4 days until I was outbid at the last minute for $1.25. I was feeling so bummed I impulse bought the Steve Lukather CD even though I knew it would be cheesy.

3.) Wake Up Everybody - Teddy Pendergrass
4.) Undercover of the Night - the Rolling Stones
5.) Come On, Get Happy - the Partridge Family
6.) Buzzing - the Negro Problem
7.) The Morning Sad - Veruca Salt

Stars & Stripes of Corruption - Dead Kennedys
