Lacy Stole

Cruise knitting has begun! I’ve had the black Lion Brand microspun yarn for this pattern for ages, and I think it will make a nice accessory to take along on vacation. This is about one skein’s worth:

I’m a little bit further along now. This is the laciest project I’ve tried to make so far. It’s going along well, but I find that I have to really pay attention. And I’m more grateful than ever for stitch markers! Even if you’re not a fan of Lion Brand yarns, I think that the pattern is a good one. Done up in fancier yarn would make it that much nicer. The MicroSpun yarn is rather splitty, but I think it’ll all work out in the end.

On a different note, my spring issue of Interweave Knits finally arrived today. After reading ho-hum reviews on other blogs, my expectations were very low. Granted, it’s one of my least favorite issues of IK, but there were still a few cute patterns in there, I thought.

I like the Ballet Wrap on the cover, and I think this Debbie Bliss sweater is especially cute. I could see myself possibly making this or this, perhaps also.

Just thinking about knitting on a cruise ship is making me feel good! Have a great trip!!

I like all the same items from IK as well, but I don’t see myself making any of them sometime soon. Maybe the Debbie Bliss, but I don’t know any little kids at the moment (well enough to knit for, anyway).
