Double My Pleasure

Good things really came in two’s this weekend…

Stash-o-rama
Stashbusting is off to a rip-roaring start. I’m happy to say that I’m still feeling very motivated. I spent some time revisiting the stash, sorting, reorganizing, remembering it all. My two plastic bins (summery/baby and wintery/wooly) still don’t quite close nicely, and yes, there is quite a bit of overflow. But it was inspiring to imagine a day when it will be all under control and can be stored neatly once again.

Newbies Times Two
I also got to teach TWO new knitters a thing or two about casting on and the knit stitch. The rhyme from Stitch n Bitch really seemed to help. “In through the front door / Put on your scarf / Come back out the front / Before the cat barfs.” I think that’s it. I’d never tried teaching that to anyone before, but my sister latched right onto it. “Uh-oh. Look at this,” she’d say shoving her scarf under my nose, “does it look like I forgot to ‘barf’ right here?”

F.O.s
I finished not one, but TWO stash-busting baby gifts that I can’t show you yet — but trust me, they’re c-u-t-e!

And, last but not least, I finished up the remaining two yoga bags that I’ve been working on. They look exactly like the one pictured a few days ago. (The thought did occur to me that having *exactly* matching bags, while cute, might have its downfalls — so I made the drawstrings out of different colored ribbon for each.)
