Big City Knitting

Exciting! I’m going to New York on Monday for work, and although it looks like I won’t get to see much of the city (boo), there is a good chance that I will get to pop in here. It’s so great to be traveling with a co-worker who knits!

I have friends who travel often for work — and I’m glad that’s not me. This will bring my lifetime total business trips to two. So, it still seems like a novelty.

So if I’m going to be on a plane, I’ll need to have along something to knit, right? I thought about the Cable-Eight tank. And there’s really no good reason not to bring it, except that I don’t really want to deal with a cable needle (and also I’m kinda bored with it). Clapotis is too big to bring (and besides, I’m out of yarn at the moment). So what choice did I have but to start something new??

I cast on a few days ago, and I swear I was only going to knit a couple of inches on the back of the Lace-Trim Bolero from the latest VK — but somehow I was binding off the completed back piece last night already. Looks like I’ll be working on the front pieces and finishing this one in record time! I’m using Elann’s Endless Summer mercerized cotton from the stash. I mean, if I’m using stash yarn, then it’s all good, right?

I’ve been trying to come up with a substitute yarn for that bolero. I can’t wait to see how yours turns out.
