A Woodsy Miss Dashwood

Here’s a rather crummy shot of a very adorable hat. It’s the Miss Dashwood pattern from Knitty.com done up in Knit Picks Merino Style.
This was a really fun pattern. (My first picot edge, and my first bobbles!) The only thing I wasn’t sold on are the ties. Somehow the seed stitch just looks a bit lumpy . . . but my experimentations with alternatives didn’t come out any better, so I stuck with the pattern’s recommendation after all.
The hat took just about 1 1/2 skeins, which left me with enough left over for some booties. I’m adding pink beads to those (and I may add in a few on the hat??) — so I’ll be sure to post one more picture of the whole set as a grand finale.
Please keep your fingers crossed that the co-worker who is going to be getting these creations will be open to the idea of accessorizing his baby girl with the color brown!
