Full weekend update coming soon. I’ve got pictures to show that haven’t come off the camera yet — mostly because I haven’t wanted to put down the knitting needles long enough to post them!

My knitting has improved by leaps and bounds over the past few days! So far, I’ve just been teaching myself from books. I was having success with knits and purls, enough to do a garter stitch or stockinette, but I couldn’t figure out how to alternate between stitches within the same row. UNTIL I came across a tip in a copy of Knitting For Dummies that explained how to move the yarn to the back to the front when you’re changing from a knit stitch to a purl (or vice versa). Duh! I was so happy when that light bulb came on!

So, now I’ve got one plain garter stitch scarf completed, and I’ve started on another with a very simple pattern — to help myself get more comfortable with working from a pattern. Pictures coming soon!
