Taking It All Apart

More bathroom demolition photos. Today we really got down to business, tearing out the rest of the walls and removing the old cast-iron bathtub (says it was made in 1935) — with some help, of course! How freaky is it that the tub was just resting on the floor beams with no subflooring below it whatsoever?

Tomorrow we begin putting the pieces back together again. There are challenges ahead as we attempt to put up tiles around the new bathtub and install a glass block window, but I’m excited and optimistic about it. Whenever we start to doubt ourselves, Kate and I just remind each other that this is our “practice house.” Gotta learn somehow, right?

Anyway, there has been knitting going on this past week — but nothing very photogenic. I haven’t felted the hat yet, and other than that I’ve just been working on the orange strip for my baby blanket project. Proper updates coming soon!
