Don’t you just love starting a new project? I do. Especially one that I’ve been looking forward to for a while. This is about half of the back piece for my nephew Jake’s Tiger Sweater from Zoe Mellor’s Animal Knits book.

I substituted yarn and am using Jeni McMahon Soft Australian Wool instead of the recommended Rowan DK Cotton. So, my color palette is a bit bolder than the one shown in the photo. I was actually hoping that the colors would be more similar — but I like how it’s going so far.

I also finished the second sleeve of Kate’s Rowan Cork sweater — but it’s not very exciting to look at. Now I’m on to the front piece and it’ll be time for seaming before you know it! My goal is to finish by Thanksgiving, and it’s looking like I should be right on track.
