Small Things
I’ve been extra busy at work for the past month or so on a really big project — and, as you know, our bathroom is undergoing a big transformation… In my knitting, I’m finding myself drawn to a series of small things. I suppose the instant sense of achievement from these little things is helping to balance out those other big things.
Also, I’m participating in another craft exchange (in addition to SKP2) for which I need to submit 5-10 items by October. So that may have something to do with this trend toward smallness, too!
First of all, I finally got around to felting my orange tweed bucket. (Pardon the cheesy self-portrait pose.)
I love this pattern — and I love the magic of felting! Kate got me a whole book of Felted Knits patterns as an anniversary gift, so you know there will be more felted goodness to come. I really like how the Cascade 200 Tweed yarn came out. Here’s a closeup showing the little flecks of color.
And next we have a posse of “finger puppers” based on Kerrie’s cute pattern. (In case you’re wondering, that green fellow is an attempt at a frog, but if you think he looks more like an alien… well, you never know.)
Talk about instant gratification! These little guys only take me about 20 minutes from the time I start digging around my stash for the appropriate colored bits of yarn to completion. Give or take 10 minutes for obsessing about how to create convincing frog eyes.

I think you look cute in that pose.
