Knitting Catch-Up
Yes, this is still a blog about knitting and other crafts! In case you thought I’d forgotten.
Here are the first few inches of Miriam’s birthday sundress underway. I’ve actually already been to about this point once before, but I realized that I’d misinterpreted the decreases in the pattern — so this is the second time around, and I think I’ve got the hang of it. I’m carrying the yarn up the side of my work so there won’t be so many loose ends to weave in.
The yarn is Millefilli Fine (Filatura Di Crosa) mercerized cotton from Elann.com. I really love the sheen and softness of the fabric it creates. My intention was to make this in lilac and cream stripes — but Elann was out of the cream color in any of the cotton that they carry, so I went a different direction and chose a compatible variagated yarn from Millefili instead. The colors blend perfectly — although I’m realizing that it does make the stripe definition less sharp.
What do you think, Jeni — looks okay? Will your little gal like it?

I’m making a tank out of the Millefili Fine right now. Isn’t it lovely to work with?
