Just Wishin, and Swatchin, and Hopin, and Dreamin…
I’m determined to stay focused on finishing the First Blush sweater which is going really well (sleeve photos coming soon). And I’m waiting for little Haiku to dry so that I can attach buttons and get her shipped off to Emily. BUT, I’m also really eager to start a summer project using some of my new birthday yarn!
So, here’s a swatch of Classic Elite Fame in Sea #1446 (Silk/Rayon) from my LYS held together with Endless Summer Collection Sonata in Peacock Green #2772 (mercerized cotton) from Elann.
I love the colors! The plan is to make the Summer in the City tank top from the Yarn Girls Guide to Simple Knits book:

Unfortunately, my swatch turned out a tad on the small side. So, sometime this weekend I’ll experiment with a slightly bigger needle size. I’m really glad I checked my gauge though because I’m already concerned that the biggest size offered in the pattern is going to be just large enough to fit me — the last thing I need is to end up with something too small because I neglected to knit a gauge swatch!
In other news… we just got a cool new ibook laptop! Won’t that be fun?
Just think… I could be updating my blog from just about anywhere!
