Holiday Craft List
Believe it or not, I’ve got several photos in the digital camera at home destined to make an appearance on this blog… but for right now, I just want to get a handle on my list of Christmas gift crafts. I think I’m in denial (as usual) as to what amount of handmade gifts are feasible considering that there are only 3 weeks or so left. So here goes. In my fantasyland where time is not an issue, here’s are the gifts I’d like to make:
1. a sweater for Kate
2. a sweater for my nephew
3. 2 aprons
4. 3 sets of knitted baby hats & mittens
5. a satin sash/belt for my sister
6. a scarf for my father-in-law
7. book weights for my co-workers (7)
8. a scarf for Kate
Hmm. You know, I’m actually thinking that it’s not as bad as I feared. Keep in mind that sweater #1 is at home blocking (yeah, it was supposed to be finished by Thanksgiving, so sue me). A couple of other items (#2, #8) are already in progress . . . although, mentally, I’m not fully committed to finishing sweater #2 because I know that it’s going to be way too big to fit Jake this year, anyway. The rest of the things are fairly small, but I’d better get a move on.
I think I’ll probably have to limit my sewing projects (aprons, book weights) to whatever I can finish in one weekend blitz — but most of the rest of it seems within reach. I think. The real key is to keep myself from getting distracted by other small projects and things intended for myself for the time being. (Except for the last few inches of Klaralund, right??)
