Halloween Update, but first…

I logged in all set to post a few Halloween pictures, but first I have to bitch about the insane amount of comment spam that I’ve been hit with over the past couple of days. Like e-mail spam, paper junk mail, telemarketing calls, litter… comment spam is something that I am willing to put up with in small amounts as just an unfortunate fact of life. But when my blog is unindated with over 60 (!!) bogus comments promoting certain medications and shady financial institutions, that is IT!

pant. pant. I feel a little better now. I’m sure my patient resident blog tech support prince will be able to help me clean up the mess, but I just had to vent a little first.

Now, on to happier topics. I didn’t go quite as elaborate with this year’s Halloween costumes, but Kate did allow me to dress him up for a costume party. (Such a good sport!) So, we went as a classic 1950’s sock-hop couple. I wore a poodle skirt and sweater set, he sported a “leather” greaser jacket and loads of hair gel.

I made sure to have someone take our picture, but I didn’t realize until later that the photo didn’t show off my homemade skirt. So, here’s also a picture of just the skirt laid out for you to see.

The skirt is made out of felt with a homemade kitty applique from a furry felt scrap. The pattern I used was Simplicity 5403. I waited until the last minute to make it (of course), so I didn’t even bother to turn under the hem!

And finally, I leave you with a quick picture of a very rare moment of feline togetherness between these two. (Yes, Sadie is especially large — but that fact is somewhat exaggerated because Bridget is especially small.)

I love your poodle skirt with the kitty applique! I’ve never seen one non-poodle before!

Your cats are adorable. Ours are rarely together, too. :)
