Christmas Past
Christmas 2004 was a winner! Kate and I got to spend two full days visiting our families, opening gifts, and indulging in good food. To top it all off, we even got to have a white Christmas this year. What could be better?
As usual, I was spoiled by many great gifts . . . but my favorites so far have to be the handmade presents from my sisters-in-law. Look here at a trio of very pretty cross stitch butterflies and a beaded rosary bracelet. I love them all!

And the next best thing to a crafty handmade gift has to be craft supplies, and I was pretty spoiled in that category also. My awesome husband surprised me with a ball winder (that I asked for) AND a swift (wow!). Makes me feel like I’ve got a lot of knitting to do this year in order to make this worthwhile (not that I mind having a challenge like that).

I wasn’t the best about getting pictures of the crafty gifts that I gave this year, but I do have one to share of my cute little niece with her new hat and mittens (both from Zoe Mellor’s Adorable Knits for Tots).

I hope Santa was extra good to you, too!

Evie is so cute!!!!!!! I love the hat and mittens.
I’ve been wanting a rosary to hang in my kitchen.
I’m jealous of the swift and ball winder (I forgot to get my yarn wound at Mass ave the other day, I asked Chris if he would stand with his arms out for a while so I could wind it and he looked at me like I had three head. HA!).
Judging by all the knitting you did this year, I would guess you’ll make the the swift and ball winder worth it!
Love ya!

I got a swift and ball-winder too, this being the third year in a row that I asked. Isn’t it fun to wind up those skeins super-fast? Yay!
That Zoe Mellor book is one of my favorites. What you made for your niece is adorable indeed!
Happy 2005!
