Cable Research
My practice run-through of the Cork Sweater cables seems to have turned out okay. Easier than I expected, really. This is about half of the full pattern repeat that runs up the center of the sweater front and back. I love how this design has the cabling continuing up even through the neck.

I can see that I’ll have to be careful to keep my stitches snug to avoid gaps and “ladders” as much as possible. This much was done on some Susan Bates needles, which I actually don’t like for this yarn (too grippy). I’ve since started in on one of the sleeves using Addi Turbos, which seems to be much better. Fortunately, in this case, I tend to be a tight knitter anyway — so I’m hoping that will work in my favor.
And here’s a bonus picture to show you how much bigger our little baby is getting! We named her Bridget:

HI there,
thanks for the comment on my site. I absolutely loved making Stevie. I hope you have as much fun as I did. It was my first real cabling experience. I’ll check back often to take a look at your progress.
I’m also going to place a link to your site on my site, if you don’t mind.
Take CAre

Cables really are easier than you’d think! I was scared of them for a while. I’m still scared of intarsia, and socks. Someday…
Your little Bridget is adorable. Meow!
