Bucket of Fun

One bottom’s up bucket-o-chic ready to be felted:

Not one of my official works-in-progress, but I was in the mood for something new and quick to work on before getting back to Kate’s Cork sweater. This one is knit with Cascade 220 orange tweed. One skein is the perfect amount for any of the sizes. I also made one in pink and lime green as a last-minute going away gift for my little sister — but I neglected to snap a picture of it.

I love this pattern! It’s so fast and fun. I definitely see more buckets in my future!

And in a burst of kitchen craftiness yesterday, Kate and I put together a wonderful Indian food feast of Masaman curry (his specialty) and garlic Naan. The Naan (flatbread) was surprisingly easy. It’s just a matter of getting started with it well in advance so that the dough can rise for an hour before it bakes.

The recipe for the bread is from Deborah Madison’s book Vegetarian Cooking For Everyone — which is a fantastic cookbook whether you’re a vegetarian or not.

Such a pretty color for a bucket hat. Love those flecks in the yarn!
