Talkin Bout My Best Friend

Thursday, September 30th, 2004

Introducing Lil’ Jen, my take on the Best Friend Doll pattern in Interweave Knits Summer 02.

Laura (a.k.a. Poor Miss Finch) has been cranking these out in a steady stream for the past month or so, and I just couldn’t resist. Now I just have to decide which to make next: more friends or more outfits.

Sophie Steps Out

Wednesday, September 29th, 2004

Requisite over-the-doorknob shot:

Meet three more finger “puppers” who’ve recently joined the pack. It’s going to be kinda sad to split these guys up and give them away.

I suddenly picked up my abandoned Sophie handbag a couple of weekends ago and nearly finished it right up. Except that I realized too late that I’d misplaced the handle […]

Guilty Pleasure

Sunday, September 5th, 2004

We have the Showtime channel free this month, and I’ve been sucked into the campy original series, Jeremiah.

That’s right — starring none other than Luke Perry, Malcolm Jamal-Warner, AND (in some episodes) Sean Astin. How can I turn away from that kind of star power?
The show is set in the not-so-distant future, about 20 years […]
